Our Practice Philosophy
When selecting a pediatrician for your child, it is important to consider the fit between the medical practice’s philosophy and your own. The best care occurs when your pediatrician’s office is in line with your family values and perspectives regarding medical care. Please review our medical home management philosophy to determine if our office is the best choice for you and your family.
We believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent illness and save lives. We follow the vaccination schedule of the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. We are committed to keeping our patients and the community safe. We are open to answering your questions and providing information about the science behind immunizations.
We work to limit the use of antibiotics when they are unnecessary. Overuse increases opportunities for vaccine resistant bacteria. Prescriptions for antibiotics will be written after an examination and a need for treatment is found.
There is no replacement for face-to-face contact. Use of technology assists our ability to send appointment reminders and address non-emergent matters. We encourage the use of your patient portal to address your needs.
If your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency when the office is closed, we recommend calling 9-1-1 or going to the emergency department. Other health concerns that arise beyond business hours will be addressed and/or an appointment for evaluation will be scheduled.
Before scheduling your first appointment, please ensure that our office accepts your health plan. Some plans require changing your Primary Care Provider (PCP) to our office first. All co-pays, if required by the health plan, are due at the time of service. Please bring your insurance card to each office appointment and keep us updated on changes.
Visits may be scheduled by e-mailing our office, visit@TPedHealth.com, messaging through the portal, or calling. If contacting us by phone and we are occupied, please leave a voicemail and we will call you back. New patient appointments require registration that may be completed online before coming to the office.
Our medical practice makes every effort to operate on time. Please arrive ahead of your scheduled appointment for check-in and to be roomed. If you are running behind, please notify us as soon as possible, and we will do our best to honor your appointment. If you miss your scheduled appointment, we reserve the right to reschedule your appointment.
