Tetteh Pediatric Health is happy to offer medical ear piercing services. For optimal results, newly pierced ears require regular cleaning and care to reduce risk of infection.
Fees for ear piercing are not covered by health insurance. Payment for this service will be expected at the start of the visit.
Ear piercing is available for individuals 4 to 12 months of age and 4 years and older with up-to-date immunizations. To ensure safety, children will need to be able to sit still and cooperate with staff for this procedure. Appointments must be scheduled in advance to ensure the availability of product.
Our ear piercer of choice is the Coren®PS. This single use product is a hand-pressured, quiet, precise device compared to traditional piercing guns. Dr. Tetteh performs this procedure using sterile technique expected from a medical office.
Earring products are stainless steel or plated with 24-karat gold. They should stay in place for a minimum of six weeks to ensure proper healing.
